Weird Things My Non-Writer Friends Have Said/Done

Image
I was looking for a post to do and then I thought, why not talk about my weird non-writer friends? And then I saw that Jem Jones uploaded something similar to my idea, and it was HILARIOUS, read it HERE .      So I decided that I'm going to go through with my post idea! Here are some weird things my non-writer peeps have said… ---- Friend: *Is in an argument with a random stranger, while I stand to the side, rolling my eyes* I don't care what you think, I'm right, and my friend would agree with me, and she's a writer, so she's super smart! ---- Me: Guess what! I self-published my book! Friend: DUDE, that is so cool!! Let me advertise for you! Me: Ummm, what? Friend: HERE I GO. *Dashes out of the classroom and into a hallway full of people, while shouting* BUY GRAY'S BOOK, GUYS. IT'S LIT!!!!!! *The sound of him running into a trashcan rings through the halls* Me: *Still standing frozen in the room* …. Friend...

How to Make Your Villain Unforgettable

Image
On Friday I watched Unbreakable by M. Night Shyamalan, and I was totally blown away by the whole film.       I am a huge fan of M. Night Shyamalan, I love how he creates such gripping plot-lines, and his plot twists are always astonishing and well thought out. I have never been able to correctly guess one of his plot twists, they always completely catch me by surprise.     BUT, Unbreakable made me speechless.      The character development was exceptional.      The storyline was awesome.      And the plot twist, I can't even begin to describe how brilliant it was.       But what struck me most was the main villain. I loved the villain, so much that this one will be unforgettable for me.      And that made me start to think, What makes a villain unforgettable?  ...

The New Schedule//Braces

Image
Well, guys, another school year is upon us. I wish everyone luck with middle school, highschool, or college!        With the return of school I am going to have to bring back my schedule from the dead. I started blogging at the end of the school year, and at the time I would post only on Sundays and Wednesdays. But when summer started I stopped doing that, and now I'm afraid I have to again!          I will try to post on either Saturdays or Sundays, I'm not sure if I'll post during the week, because of school *cough* Chemistry *cough*          Anyways, I just wanted to tell y'all that, so when my posts get less regular, y'all don't wonder what's going on.            Also, does anyone have any post suggestions? With the school year I won't have as much time to plan posts, so it would be ni...

The Character Karaoke Tag

Image
I've been tagged again, and since I feel really bad for being horrible at doing tags, so I'm doing it (also this tag is awesome, so yeah).       I think I've been tagged for this three times? Maybe four?       The most recent people to tag me for this were Quinley and Ivie , and I can't remember who else tagged me, but I remember being tagged for this before… I'm sorry, but I really can't remember. So if you tagged me for this, comment below and I'll add you up here! XD          EDIT: Abigail Lennah also tagged me! Oops.                Now I actually have a WIP, so that helps with tags like these!!! Before I didn't, so I was just like, I have no idea how to do this tag, I need to start another story! And now I have, yay! BUT FIRST, AESTHETICS. I know it isn't the best, but I couldn't resist playing arou...

A Tag // I Reveal My Latest Plot and WIP!

Image
I was planning to do a tag before school started, unfortunately I lost my (very long)  list of tags, yes, I actually had a handwritten list. It was around two pages, because I am a horrible person who takes forever to do tags. XD         But luckily, Ry tagged me! AND I'M GOING TO DO THIS ONE. I guess I should give y'all a brief update abut my writing life...            Remember the story that I told y'all about, the one with a dragon trying to raise a human baby ? Well, that's not on the back burner or anything, I just decided to put it down for a while, because I don't think the story is complicated enough for a whole book or even a novella, so I'm thinking about re-writing it into a children's book someday! (Like when I learn how to format that...)             Now, I have another story brewing, and it's kin...

Should We Hate Romance in YA?

Image
Every once in a while, I'll check out a book from the library and decide that before I read it that I want to see what other readers thought, so I go to Amazon and read a couple of reviews, and there's always, always one review that says something along the lines of this, “It would've been a good book, if it wasn't for the AWFUL romance! Why can't guys and girls ever be just friends in books?!”           And although I am not one of those romance haters, I can understand why people would feel that way, and maybe why I should too. Which, brings up my question of the day: Should we hate romance in YA?             So romance. I'm personally not a hater, but I'm not a huge fan, once a month I get into this weird mood, where all I want to do is curl up with a work of Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery, John Green, or Stephanie Perkins, and so I ...
