Let's Talk: Romance in YA


      Grab a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or whatever you drink, and let’s talk about romance in YA.

 
      This is going to be a very different post than my usual ones, because instead of you reading my thoughts before you comment, I want to read your thoughts before I comment!

      Romance is such a big debate in the YA bookish world, and I’m curious to see what y’all think. I’ve lowkey ranted about this on here before, so I know a few of you have the same view on this as I do, but I also know that I’m getting a lot of new readers, and that brings more diversity to this blog.

 

       So romance. What do you think about it in YA? Comment below, talk to me, talk to other commenters.
       Please keep this discussion/debate civil! We all have different views, and the purpose of this post is to read what other people think and why.

         I might do a post expressing more of my opinions on this topic later next month.

We Need Ratings for Books

Guys, I wish books had ratings like movies did. Now, I can see someone commenting down below something along the lines of, " But Graayyyyy , they do have ratings!! You have jfict books written for twelve and below, YA written for teens, and NA written for a more college-aged audience, and then just Adult fiction written for, well, either advanced readers or older readerssssssssssss!!!!" But the thing is, one can go to blockbuster (okay, maybe not anymore, but I have to bring back that nostalgia *sighs* the good old days that weren't actually that good but I remember them in a golden filter for some reason), ANYWAYS , people could go to a certain section of the genre of the type of movie they wanted to see, but every movie in that genre also has a  s e p a r a t e   rating. For example, if I go to the horror section and pick up Signs , I can turn it to the back and see that it is rated PG-13 for some more intense moments. Then if I pick up let's say Along Came a...

Just popping in to say....

Happy fourth of July!! If you're an American I hope you have a great day of celebrating the freedom of this amazing country, and if you're not American I still hope you have a great day! I thought I had to stay home today because of burns on my arms and legs and it's too hot to wear pants outside right now, but luckily I got fewer burns than I thought on my legs so I can pass with band-aids. I've been reading about the American Government for school, and America is such a complex country, I firmly believe America is one of the best countries ever, sure we have our fair share of #issues, but I hope we can come together soon and become a strong and diverse nation.
