Most of these questions are meant for sci-fi, dystopian, or fantasy worlds, so I’ll probably won’t be able to answer some of these as well because my book is general fiction.

I love writing general fiction, I love writing stories in our world because it makes it feel so much more real to me, but it also stinks because research must be done to get all my details right, in other genres research must also be done, but a lot of it is purely based off imagination.

There’s no need to worry about the weather and the time of the year being off in your book when no one’s heard of your world before, to say the least.

But that being said, please keep in mind that I am still researching, and I do plan to go back after the first draft and make all of the details clearer and more realistic.

What would we immediately notice upon stepping into your storyworld?  (What would stand out the most?)

Hmmmm, probably all the colors if we’re going off of Piper’s POV.

You would notice a lot of emotion for Alex’s.

And Josh is more of a pessimist, so you’ll probably notice broken windows and cracked sidewalks.

What place in this world (Earth) reminds you most of your world? (Or provide a picture that you think best defines your story world.)

                 …. Earth. *dies laughing* #generalfictionproblems

But yeah, I have aesthetics! (shocker, right??) In my book, Piper travels from Connecticut to New York (still working on allll of those pesky details, research, grrrr).

Are there specific foods/dining habits particular to this world?

Probably a bunch of unhealthy food and coffee because I am a teen and a foodie.

Are there biases in your world, and how do they define the people? Is there a class structure and how would it affect the characters?

YES. Racism, bullying, and many other problems that we deal with in America today, because my book is in America today. XD

What belief structures/ worldviews do your characters hold? What are some philosophies of your story?

None of my characters start out as Christians, except for Andres and his family (side characters). Piper believes that people are naturally good, and Josh believes in nothingness and that everyone is flawed to the point of brokenness. As for Alex, he doesn’t really know what to believe…

Describe the general infrastructure (i.e., cities and what are those like?)  What are the main locations in your story?  (Bonus points: include a map.)

Somewhere in Connecticut and then New York.
Thanks for the map, Wikipedia! I read somewhere that y'all let people use your photos, so please don't come for me. XD

How is trade carried out through the story world, and how do the cities and nations interact with each other?

Hahahaha, like todays nations. AND I’M NOT WRITING A SCHOOL PAPER, SO NO, WE AREN’T TALKING ABOUT NORTH KOREA.

Are there any special or unique traditions or ceremonies that your world is known for?

Nope! (asides from the thousands of holidays we have, but yeah...)

Are there any significant historical events which affected the way your story world is now?

      Yeah, a lot… *hands you a U.S.A. History book*

What do you love most about your world?

Probably the cheap coffee shops that I hope to put in, I love that aesthetic and I’ll also love Josh grumbling about the nasty dirt water tasting coffee. XD

 What genre do you write?
Do you struggle with world building as well?

Happy Writing,
