Review: The Girl Who Could See by Kara Swanson

Image
This is actually my second book review done on this blog, and unlike my review of The Hate U Give, it’s not controversial! Yay!!   Note: All photos in this post are mine, please ask before using them. <3                                                 (from goodreads): All her life Fern has been told she is blind to reality—but what if she is the only one who can truly see? Fern Johnson is crazy. At least, that’s what the doctors have claimed since her childhood. Now nineteen, and one step away from a psych ward, Fern struggles to survive in bustling Los Angeles. Desperate to appear “normal,” she represses the young man flickering at the edge of her awareness—a blond warrior only she can see. Tristan was Fern’s childhood imaginary hero, s...

I ACTUALLY BOUGHT MORE BOOKS?!?!?! ( a book haul)

Image
Note: All photos in this post are mine, please ask before using them. <3         YEP. This cheapskate bought more books. 5 more, to be exact! And if you think that five is a pretty low number of books to buy keep in mind that:   1. I am a fairly cheap person, the only things I regularly spend money on is my makeup (once a month) and my phone bill (also once a month), so yeah! 2. Two of these books are indie books, which means they're kind of expensive, for me at least! XD         But yes! I actually bought some more books, and y'all said y'all wanted a book haul, so here I am!   *squeals* So pretty!!        Unread:        Yes, I actually took a giant leap of faith and bought some books I have never read before! *gasps* BUT a lot of readers I really like/look up to said they were good, so I HAVE GREAT FAITH!!!     ...

Update (Ramblings) on Life

Image
Ahaha... I have nothing to post so I'm just going to ramble and hope that none of y'all notices, do you think that will work? (It probably won't if I keep this intro... let's call it a 50% chance).           By the way, I do have more content coming up! I just purchased a few books and I plan on doing a book haul when they come in, I'm also planning on reviewing a few of the books on here because they are indie books I've been wanting to get my hands on for quite some time.                    So, life. That messy, horrible, draining, beautiful thing that fills our lungs.        I think it's safe to say that I'm learning lots of important lessons this year, from working on my learner's permit to more spiritual and emotional lessons.            The bigges...

Things That Make Me Pick Up a Book

Image
Why do seagulls fly over the sea?   Because if they flew over the bay they would be called bagels….           I didn’t have an intro for this post, so that was an awful pun from the internet… I REGRET NOTHING.                DRAGONS (and other mythical creatures). I’m not even a big fan of fantasy, but if I see a dragon, unicorn, wrym, or griffin on the book’s cover or mentioned in the blurb, you better believe that book is coming home with me!   Pretty covers/aesthetically pleasing covers. I know covers aren’t everything, but I AM A PETTY BOOK DRAGON. I still pick up books with ugly covers and end up enjoying them, but I definitely notice pretty books first and suddenly want them for my own….            Helloooo, beautiful ones! I like to think of my pettiness towards book covers as people’s pettiness for people; we all know that...
